Silica and Calcium Carbonate Scaling Overcome: HyBatch™ RO Proves Milestone Performance

10th February 2026

We are proud to announce a major breakthrough in membrane desalination: HyBatch™ RO has achieved what conventional RO has never been able to do. Scaling, driven predominantly by silica and calcium carbonate, causes around 70% of membrane failures worldwide, limiting recovery, driving up energy use, and forcing constant chemical cleaning. HyBatch™ fundamentally changes this picture. By transforming system hydraulics, it prevents the continuous concentration buildup that trigger rapid crystallisation and silica polymerisation.

In our head-to-head trials, traditional RO suffered irreversible calcium carbonate scaling at 80% recovery, while HyBatch™ delivered 95% recovery with zero scaling a milestone performance. In high silica conditions known for irreversible deposits, HyBatch™ operated up to 20× longer before reaching normal cleaning thresholds.

This is a moment of real celebration for our team: a proven step change in efficiency, sustainability, and reliability for industrial reuse, ZLD, and every application where scaling once set the limits.
